start up of a program;
credentialing of providers
obtaining reimbursement for their services
Palliative Care Billing
Physicians and other medical professional who provide palliative care service to non-hospice patients are eligible for reimbursement. Many hospice facilities are not charging for this much needed service. Providers could include physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, physician assistants, licensed clinical social workers and clinical psychologists. Expanding these programs is a necessary and valuable service and with the proper structuring this endeavor will be worthwhile.
Hospice is all palliative care, but palliative care is not all hospice!
